Dear Fonseca,

I was dropping my kids off at school when another parent confronted me because she saw them splitting an energy drink. The other mother told me I was irresponsible and that my kids had no business drinking something with that much caffeine before school. My children are in 3rd and 5th grade. I only give them the energy drink when they are dragging. It gives them lots of pep and keeps them awake in class. I think it's wrong that another parent is telling me how to parent. I don't think there's anything wrong with my kids downing an energy drink before school. I'm monitoring them and making sure it doesn't become a habit. What are your thoughts on this? Am I a bad parent or smart because my kids are alert when they arrive at class?
