Dear Fonseca

My husband and I are arguing about having children. We both want them real bad, but he is not mature enough for them yet. I think he needs several more years before he's ready to become a father. He got mad when I told him this. He thinks he's ready. He's raised several dogs and says having dogs is the same as having children. I told him he's way off. He disagrees. This could be a deal-breaker even though we've only been married for 18 months. I'd like some advice from your listeners. Is raising a kid the same as raising a dog? Is my husband right?  He says at the end of the day, whether it's a dog or kid, it all comes down to responsibility which he says he has.
