Some farms are short 1,000 trees because of past droughts. The cost of fuel, shipping and fertilizer is also causing some Christmas tree farms to charge more. It takes five years for a Christmas tree to grow five feet.
Thanksgiving Dinner Is Going To Cost More: Financial Advisor says the cost of this year's Thanksgiving dinner is going to be more expensive. Turkeys costs $1.99 a pound compared to $1.15 a pound last year. The cost of potatoes are up by 18% while the cost of butter has skyrocketed by 25%. Vegetables cost 19% more this year than last year. Some people are planning to celebrate Thanksgiving with pizza instead of turkey.

The NY Post says Turner Classic Movies and Julien's Auctions are giving someone the chance to own the original "E.T." for an estimated cost of $2 to $3 million. The E.T. "Hero #1" robot is regarded as an "engineering masterpiece" because it brought the alien to life before the advent of modern CGI and special effects. Several other "E.T." items are also being auctioned off to commemorate the film's 40th anniversary.
