New on Netflix May 21: Army of the Dead
Writer and director Zack Snyder’s latest film, Army of the Dead, is new on Netflix this weekend. This zombie-filled Netflix-original centers on a group of mercenaries who, following a zombie apocalypse, take the biggest gamble Las Vegas has ever seen and try to pull off a major heist in the center of the quarantine zone of the city. Starring Dave Bautista, Tig Notaro, Ella Purnell and more, Army of the Dead is set to be not only one of the top movies new on Netflix this month but also the streaming platform’s big summer blockbuster film.

New on Amazon Prime Video May 21: Solos
The pandemic has left many feeling isolated and alone; but in Amazon Prime Video’s new anthology series Solos, we are comforted by the fact that even at our most lonely, we are still a part of the best things that make us human. New on Prime Video this weekend, this eight-part anthology series poses the question of what it truly means to be human. It provides the thesis that humanity unites us as people and connects us to others through shared experiences, even when we feel the most isolated or alone. Featuring a star-studded cast that includes Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Helen Mirren, Uzo Aduba, and Constance Wu, Solos is an incredibly touching and relatable series that truly hits home during the pandemic age — a time in which human contact and shared experiences has seemed few and far between.
New on Hulu May 21: Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K
New on Hulu this weekend is the series premiere of a fantastic new stop motion series, Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. This action-comedy tells the story of M.O.D.O.K.: a megalomaniac supervillain who has spent his lifetime trying — and failing — to gain control of the world and battling superheroes along the way. But after his villainous group falls into bankruptcy, he is sold to the rivaling organization, forcing him to move in with his family in the worst place imaginable: suburban New Jersey. GASP! Can you say midlife crisis alert? Featuring a stellar voice cast including Patton Oswalt, Aimee Garcia, Ben Schwartz, Melissa Fumero and more Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. is not your average superhero animated comedy, and is definitely not a series to overlook this weekend.
