New in Theaters: "Halloween Kills" and "The Last Duel"
1. "Halloween Kills" (R) Trailer At the end of the 2018 movie, Laurie Strode had Michael Myers trapped in the basement when she set her house on fire and left him for dead. But while she was being taken to the hospital, firefighters arrived and he escaped. After murdering his "rescuers," Michael goes on a killing spree and Laurie inspires the other survivors to help her hunt him down before he returns to his childhood home. Jamie Lee Curtis is back as Laurie Strode, Judy Greer plays her daughter Karen, and Andi Matichak from "Orange Is the New Black" is Laurie's granddaughter Allyson. Kyle Richards and Anthony Michael Hall are also in it as the adult version of the kids that Laurie was babysitting during Michael's killing spree in the original movie. The guy under the Michael Myers mask is stuntman James Jude Courtney.
2. "The Last Duel" (R) Trailer
Matt Damon plays a knight who challenges his squire to trial by combat after his wife accuses him of raping her. Jodie Comerplays his wife, Adam Driver is his accused best friend, and Ben Affleck is the nobleman Matt Damon is sworn to serve.
It's directed by Ridley Scott and is based on an actual historical event, about the last legally sanctioned duel in France, back in the 14th century. You might know Jodie as the assassin Villanelle on "Killing Eve".
