Friday, July 22 Llama Llama Red Pajama Live – Orinda It’s been a big first day of school, and Llama’s happy to be home and wearing his favorite red pajamas. After his bedtime story, Mama Llama tucks him in and pops downstairs. Llama’s toys try to help him relax, but he’s too wiggly. This original, world-premiere musical will have everyone doing the Bedtime Dance!

Sunday, July 24 A Lord of a Ring in a Suitcase – Alameda Join The Bay Area’s favorite fictional traveling troupe, The Peripatetic Players, as they courageously attempt to enact J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy all out of suitcases! Help the Peripatetic Players run from ringwraiths, scintillatingly swordfight, and secretly scarf second breakfasts in this ridiculous romp around Middle Earth at a park near you. Bring a blanket and the whole family and enjoy the adventure as it unfolds all around you. Shows are free and appropriate for audiences of all ages.

First Friday at CuriOdyssey – San Mateo, August 5 Swing into the weekend with music, science, animals and fun! On the first Friday of every month, from 5 pm until 8 pm, where parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey. Come together as a family, visit early, and stay late!

World Dog Surfing Championships – Pacifica, August 6 The World Championships for Dog Surfing take place on the Northern California coast — where the concept for the dog surfing sport originated — bringing together the best in local and international dog surfing talent. Top dog surfers as well as happy amateurs are invited to bring home the Golden Surfie Award. During the event there will be a number of activities including the surf competition, dog beach fashion contest, dog adoptions, partner tents and activities, and more.
