Friday, March 3 First Friday at Chabot Space and Science Center– Oakland Immerse yourself in an evening of playful, colorful curiosity! What is color? How do humans and animals define color? Explore an array of hands-on color demonstrations and activities fun for the whole family. Learn how we bend light to see the spectrum and hear experts talk about various aspects of color and how it relates to space science.

First Friday Nights at Curiodyssey – San Mateo Swing into the weekend with live music, a food truck, animals and fun! On the first Friday of every month, from 5 pm until 8 pm, parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey. Dance to some of your favorite pop and rock hits, while enjoying animal presentations and science activities.

de Youngsters Day Out – San Francisco, March 11 The in-person, all-day event will include hands-on art-making activities, in-gallery conversations and entertainment led by teaching artists and community partners, and live performances and music in Wilsey Court. Proceeds from the event support our Equity School Partnership Project, which provides in-classroom instructional support, art supplies, and transportation for students who do not typically visit the de Young.

Very First Concerts: Meet the Woodwinds – San Francisco, March 18 Free 30 minute concerts at 11am and 11:45am at SF Public Library, Main Branch Civic Center. Featuring the SFCO Woodwind Quintet – flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn.

Family Nature Day Honoring Elizabeth Terwilliger – Tiburon, March 25 Free family even from 10 am – 2 pm at Richardson Bay Audubon Center and Sanctuary. Go on a naturalist-led hike, create a wildlife themed craft, take the scavenger hunt challenge, use spotting scopes to watch birds, meet live non-releasable wildlife, and much more. Bring a picnic to enjoy, or buy lunch from the food truck. Street parking available on site.
