Video Games And Mental Health Study

A new study by the University of Oxford reveals that playing video games can benefit a person's mental health. Researchers studied gamers playing "Animal Crossing" and "Plants vs. Zombies" to determine the relationship between games and a player's wellbeing. They discovered that the mental health of gamers improved when they experienced genuine enjoyment from the games.

Professor Andrew Przybylski says, "Our findings show video games aren't necessarily bad for your health; there are other psychological factors which have a significant effect on a person's wellbeing. In fact, play can be an activity that relates positively to people's mental health - and regulating video games could withhold those benefits from players."
