The Best Day to Book Flights for the Holidays Is . . . Today!

More people are planning to travel for the holidays this year now that they're vaccinated. So when's the best time to book your flight? A travel app called Hopper uses an algorithm that looks at travel trends and prices from other years. And it found that TODAY is the best day to buy your tickets. This week is a good time to book flights in general, especially for Christmas. But tickets might be slightly more expensive by Friday than they are today. If you're not ready to book yet, they say prices probably won't skyrocket until late October. Once we hit November, prices for flights around Thanksgiving will spike 40%. And the same thing happens in the last few weeks before Christmas. The good news is Thanksgiving flights are expected to be 11% cheaper than normal this year. But flights for Christmas will be 10% more expensive than they were in 2019. The cheapest day to fly for Thanksgiving is ON Thanksgiving, but Monday of that week is also pretty cheap. And if you don't mind getting in last-minute, flights on Christmas Eve tend to be cheaper than other days. But Tuesday the 21st is also good. The most expensive days to fly are the Sunday after Thanksgiving . . . and December 26th, which also falls on a Sunday this year.

The Peak Age for Having Fun Is 24

Sure, age is just a number. But if you had to pick, which age would you say is the MOST FUN? 2,000 people were polled, and the average answer was 24 years old. That makes sense, because you have plenty of energy . . . you're finally making money . . . you can DRINK . . . and you probably don't have a ton of obligations yet. 40% of people said the older you get, the harder it is to find time to get together with friends and socialize. And 75% said it's important to plan stuff ahead of time, so you have something to look forward to.

Top 5 Ways to Have Fun Without Ever Leaving Your House

According to a new poll, the average person hasn't "let their hair down" and had fun in three weeks. C'mon, people! It's not that hard. Just try anything from today's list of the . . . Top 5 Ways to Have Fun Without Ever Leaving Your House. Invite someone over . . . who sells weed. Play your toddler in chess. You'll kick her ass! Sing your favorite song out loud. Unless it's "We Didn't Start the Fire". Your neighbors don't deserve that. Look through old photos. But not the ones where you're thin and had hair. Open a window and listen to nature. Assuming you define "nature" as a homeless guy pleasuring himself. Teach your pet a new trick. Or, if you own a cat: a new way to express contempt. Call up someone who makes you laugh. Like your friend who insists the Jets are going to the Super Bowl. Turn on the TV and take a vodka shot whenever you see Jake from State Farm. Learn a language. Like French. Or whatever Vin Diesel mumbles. Pull the window shades and dance like nobody's watching. Because nobody IS watching. Because you have nobody in your life. Sorry, this isn't helping, is it?

A Coffin Was Found in a Golf Course Pond, with a 4,000-Year-Old Man and an Axe Inside

This seems like something you'd expect to see at a Viking-themed MINI GOLF course . . . not an ACTUAL golf course. A COFFIN was accidentally discovered in a pond at a golf course in Lincolnshire, England in 2018 . . . during a hot, dry summer. Now, archaeologists have revealed that it's an old Bronze Age relic. Inside were the remains of a 4,000-year-old man, who was buried with an axe. Experts say the coffin was made from hollowing out an oak tree trunk. And they believe that the man must have been important, because his body was cushioned with plants and raised over the grave with a gravel mound. The axe was well-preserved . . . and probably a symbol of authority, rather than a tool. The whole thing is undergoing preservation work. And when it's completed, it'll be exhibited at a museum.

Listening to Music Is the #1 Way We 'Let Our Hair Down'

When was the last time you really let your hair down and had some fun? The average answer in a new poll was three weeks ago. And the top things that prevent us from doing it are work, life admin, and our KIDS. It also asked people to name the most common ways they kick back and relax. And music dominated the top ten . . . 1. Listening to music. 2. Going out for food. 3. A weekend trip. 4. Comfort food. 5. Celebrating a birthday. 6. Going to a bar. 7. Shopping sprees. 8. Playing "throwback" music. So, old songs you still love. 9. Singing out loud. That's three music-related things in the top ten. 10. Taking a vacation day or sick day. Concerts just missed the list at #11.

Four Signs You Should Turn Down a Job Offer

According to a new survey by Bankrate, more than half of people in the U.S. plan to look for a new job in the next 12 months. But that doesn't mean you should take the first offer you get. Here are four signs you should TURN DOWN a job offer 1. It's a revolving door. When you interview, try to find out why the position is open and for how long. If you get the feeling the role is a revolving door, it might mean the work sucks or the boss is a challenge to work with. 2. They're too rigid. If your job can easily be done remotely and the company requires you to be in the office at all times, especially after the past year and a half, it may be a sign of an inflexible culture. 3. There's no clear growth path. A survey by Monster found that the top two reasons people are looking for new jobs are burnout and lack of job growth or opportunities. If the job you're interviewing for doesn't have an upward trajectory . . . and that's something you want . . . it might be worth passing. 4. They pressure you. If you get a job offer and they pressure you to accept it on the spot or within a day, be warned. Don't be afraid to ask for more time to think about your options before committing.
