Dear Fonseca

My three-and-a-half year-old son threw a temper tantrum in the middle of a Target store the other day. I tried to reason with him, but then left him in the middle of the aisle and walked around the corner. He eventually jumped up, stopped crying, and ran after me. We then held hands and continued shopping. A woman confronted me as I was checking out. She said I'm a bad parent because I should have never left him alone and allowed him to continue his tantrum. She says I should have babied him. I think giving into a child during a tantrum sets a bad precedent. She does not. What would you have done?
