And also, I could never look my parents in the face if I was some egotistical tough guy. I wasn't raised that way."

Dear Fonseca

My mother-in-law and I have been arguing about the Elf on the Shelf I bought for my three children. The kids are two, four and six and are very rambunctious because of the holidays. My mother-in-law says I never should have bought an Elf on the Shelf because it adds stress to the children's lives. My friends say it was a good choice because Elf on the Shelf makes children behave better, which is something I dearly need at the moment. My mother-in-law says my kids are acting up because that's what kids do around the holidays. She says scaring them with an Elf on the Shelf is cruel. What is your opinion of the Elf on the Shelf?
