Mother's Day Music News

Taylor Swift tells NME magazine that her mother keeps her grounded. “I’m in the news every single day for multiple different reasons, and it can feel, at times, if you let your anxiety get the better of you, like everybody’s waiting for you to really mess up – and then you’ll be done. A lot of the time I need to call my mom and talk for a really long time, just to remind myself of all the things that are great and all the things that matter. If you do something that defines your character to be not what the public thought you were, that’s the biggest risk.”

Kelly Clarkson tells People that motherhood has changed her. “My whole life took a big 180. I never thought I was going to be a mom, so it’s very much changed my world in the most awesome way. I love what I do, but I feel like I relied on my career a lot for my self-worth. And now I’m more than that. I have a certain level of peace I didn’t know was going to come with it. My best friend always says, ‘You just want to create the family you never had.’ I might be doing that. In defense of my family, it happens. People fall out of love, and people go separate ways. People are human. I’ve accomplished a lot, but I guess the biggest success I want is that whenever I die people will say, ‘She was so successful as a mother, and as a wife.’ That’s kind of my big goal.”

Andy Grammer tells ABC that he did ''Dancing with the Stars'' for his late mother."I came on this show because she (his mum) loved Dancing With the Stars and dance in general, so it's kind of full circle to have me leave on the night where I got to do a dance for her... It was a really emotional week. Grieving is such an interesting thing, and so I found that through dancing on this show, I was able to grieve for her, which sounds crazy, but that's real."

The National Enquirer claims Justin Timberlake is allegedly concerned about what Britney Spears will reveal in her upcoming memoir. A source tells the magazine, “Justin’s future is literally in the hands of Britney Spears. She knows everything and is getting paid $15 million to reveal all. Justin is apoplectic and trying to get hold of the manuscript before anyone else does. He has a PR war room set up, but they can’t do anything until they’ve read what she has to say. There has not been this much secrecy around a book since Prince Harry’s memoir. It is literally kept inside a safe. There is no way Justin’s going to get an advance copy – unless Britney sends him one.”

The Daily Mail says a Taylor Swift fan tried to sell the contact lenses they wore to one of her concerts. The description for the contact lenses read: 'Contacts that have seen taylor swift eras tour. Used. In excellent' condition'. The seller removed the posting and claims they were only joking

Michael J Fox tells Variety magazine that he was a dumpster diver before he became a Hollywood star. “I was living on the margins. I was 18 years old, with no money, no connections, literally dumpster diving for food. I knew that if I wanted to be someone, I couldn’t just sit on my parents’ porch and think, ‘Boy, if I was only born in the States and my parents had money and weren’t living paycheck to paycheck, I could do something with my life'.''

The website Terez Owens claims Kobe Bryant's mother-in-law is allegedly suing her daughter for unpaid nanny and personal assistant work. Vanessa Bryant's mother is demanding $96 an hour from her. Vanessa is quoted as saying. “She’s constantly trying and finding ways to take a financial toll on our family. She was a grandmother who supported me and her son-in-law at my request. … She now wants to back-charge me $96 an hour for working 12 hour days for 18 years to see her grandchildren.”

Tom Hanks tells the New Yorker magazine that he wasn't sure ''Forrest Gump'' was going to be a hit. “This guy sitting on a thing in these goofy shoes and this cuckoo suit with a suitcase full of Curious George books and stuff like that. Are we doing anything here that is going to make any sense to anybody?' (Director) Bob Zemeckis — God bless him, I’ve worked with him more than once — landed on the absolute truth of anybody who has gone forward and said, we are going to commit something to film today, and eventually we’ll cut this into something. You do not know if it is going to work out.”

The film's synopsis reads; “Nick Venere (Travolta) is a modern-day “Marty” – he’s never been married and his best dating years are well behind him. He’s never heard the words “I love you” and figures he never will. Patty Amore (Heigl) has her share of problems as well. Shy and introverted, she’s filled with various tics and nervous habits. A secret from her past, combined with her over-protective father, have caused her to withdraw from the dating game. Dear Fonseca

Everyone thinks I'm a jerk because I'm not getting my mom a Mother's Day present. I feel Sunday is nothing more than a Hallmark holiday. I do nice things and buy my mom all sorts of stuff throughout the year. I don't feel I need to get her a gift on Sunday just because society tells me I need to. I think people, who go all out on Sunday, are just trying to make up for what they haven't done during the rest of the year. Am I a jerk or not? Do you agree with my reasoning?
