But that doesn't mean there's no cause for concern. Climate change is enabling some fungi to withstand higher temperatures. So it's possible that someday, a mind-controlling fungus that can infect humans won't just be science fiction. My husband and I were playing cards with friends on Saturday night when the topic of Valentine's Day came up. He made a dumb comment and said it's a Hallmark holiday. He then said that it's okay to buy a box of chocolates from a dollar store because it's not the cost of the gift that counts it's the thought that matters. In most cases, I would agree, but not this one. Valentine's Day is a special holiday for women so I don't think the phrase, ''it's not the cost that matters, it's the thought that counts'', applies here. Women want to be spoiled on Valentine's Day. Is it too much to ask men to put forth the effort and money to make sure that happens? It's only one day a year. When it comes to Valentine's Day is it the cost or the thought that counts?
